“Hidden Galloway” Photography exhibition @ Ross Gallery, Stranraer
Hot on the heels of my “Galloway Squirrels” exhibition at the Tolbooth Arts Centre in Kirkcudbright, is a solo exhibition of my landscape work at the new Ross Gallery in Stranraer Museum.
And so the Galloway Squirrels exhibition draws to a close….
Yesterday was the last day of my Galloway Squirrels photography exhibition at the Tolbooth Art Centre in Kirkcudbright.
Woods are not like other spaces
“Woods are not like other spaces. To begin with, they are cubic. Their trees surround you, loom over you, press in from all sides. Woods choke off views & leave you muddled & without bearings. They make you feel small & confused & vulnerable, like a small child lost in a crowd of strange legs.
The old tree atop the knowe
Everyone has a favourite tree, and I am no different. In fact I probably have a few, starting with the old beech tree that me and my sisters used to climb as kids. But after moving into the cottage, I now call home, my new favourite tree is found just over the dyke in an adjoining field.
Sunrise behind the last sunflower.
After days of dismal weather the skies cleared.
Parallel Tension
Sometimes there is so much you want to say about an image and what it evokes in you; why you took it; why you are sharing it; what it means, that you just can’t find the words. This is such a shot.
The Faerie Bridge
….it looked like a such magical place; and indeed it was, after walking a sun-dappled mile or so through verdant spellbound woods I reached the bridge where the faeries play.
Shadowy cattle stand softly dreaming with wide-open eyes.
A mashed up borrowed quote from Lud-in-the-Mist (thank you internet).
You can now buy Hidden Galloway Photographs on Etsy
I get asked often if it’s possible to buy a print of a favourite photo, and of course it always has been. But I am trying to make it a bit easier and have started stocking an Etsy shop.
