The old tree atop the knowe

Everyone has a favourite tree, and I am no different. In fact I probably have a few, starting with the old beech tree that me and my sisters used to climb as kids. But after moving into the cottage, I now call home, my new favourite tree is found just over the dyke in an adjoining field.

This old tree clings tightly to the top of its little knowe, its roots hugging the form of the earth closely. It just stands there so perfectly, the shape of the tree mirroring the form of the land, and it just begs to be photographed, which of course it has been now from all angles at all times of the year in all weathers; apart from rain, no good would come of doing that!

I have gathered my favourite images together of this favourite tree into one place. I hope you enjoy them.

All images are available to purchase as prints by request.

For those who aren’t keen on conversation, one of the images is available from my online shop
